A day in the life at Researchbods – Insight Director Pete Strachan

At Researchbods, we believe in setting the bar high, being relentlessly curious, trusting each other, and striving to leave our mark. These values are not just words on a wall—they are the foundation of our positive, friendly, and inclusive culture. We pride ourselves on working hard, but we also know how to have fun and celebrate our team’s achievements.

We want to take you behind the scenes to show you what it’s really like to be a Bod. Meet Pete Strachan from our Insights team, who joined us in 2017 and now takes the lead on several of our big name clients as an Insight Director. Let’s dive in!

No two days are ever the same working in the Insight team. Our role is to take the challenges that our clients have and provide them with insights to make better decisions – sounds simple, but that process from receiving the client’s question to providing them with the outputs can take any number of different forms. Some of the tasks we might be involved in on an average day are writing proposals for clients on how we’d tackle their question, designing questionnaires or discussion guides for the research, speaking to respondents in focus groups or video interviews, writing reports based on the data we’ve collected, and debriefing our findings. And I’m sure I’m forgetting some tasks!

Across the life of a project we’ll work with a range of teams at Researchbods, utilising the different specialisms across the business to make sure projects run efficiently and to timings. There will typically be two or three people from the team working on any one project so you’re always collaborating, and within the team there’s the chance to progress from starting your career as an Insight Assistant or Exec through to managing a team as an Insight Director. When I joined as an Insight Manager in 2017 the team was just four people, so it’s been great to see the growth we’ve achieved and the range of clients we’ve added to be the size we are now.
